Services set for Roy NELSON

BIRMINGHAM (sic. Van Buren county, Iowa) - Roy Lawrence NELSON, 70, Route 1, Birmingham, died at 5:10 p.m. Monday at Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham. Friends may call at their convenience beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial has been established.

NELSON was born Oct. 14, 1915 in Libertyville, the son of Andrew J. and Bessie FORD NELSON. He married Birdie BAILEY Aug. 26, 1938 in Missouri. He lived all his life in Jefferson and Van Buren counties, graduated from Birmingham High School, and for most of his life was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Libertyville. He was in business in Fairfield for 12 years and later worked for Jefferson Motor Company until retiring in 1980.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Gerald Guy of Birmingham and grandchildren. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
