Leona Ruth JOHNSON, 82, of Fairfield, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Suzanne Swahn officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
A memorial has been established to the Parkview Care Center activity fund.

Mrs. JOHNSON was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Fairfield, the daughter of Guy and Mary A. COCHRAN McCORMICK. She married James O. "Joe" JOHNSON Feb. 22, 1946, at her parents' home in Fairfield. He died April 29, 1996.
A lifetime resident of Fairfield, Mrs. JOHNSON graduated from Fairfield High School in 1936. She was a telephone operator for many years before retiring in 1981.
Mrs. JOHNSON was a member of First Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, for which she was a past president of District 1.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita PUDER and husband Neil of Fairfield and Mollie PARHAM and husband Doug of Pierceville, Kan.; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty WILLIAMS of Libertyville and Anna DUDLEY of Green Valley, Ariz.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria WIGGINS; her parents; and two brothers, George McCORMICK and infant Scott.
