Jonathan LAUDER (sic - LOUDER on stone) was born in Ind., Feb 2 1842; married Matilda HUTCHINSON Sept 13 1866; came to Iowa in 1868 and settled on a farm near Fairfield. Nine children, seven of whom now reside in Jefferson County, two having died in infancy. For the past 30 years he has resided on the farm in Buchanan township where he passed away Friday age 64 y. 1 m. Funeral was held Sunday at the home conducted by Rev. Charles Coop with interment in the Antioch Cemetery.

Note: Jonathan was originally buried in Antioch Cemetery; on 22 Sep 1915 he and son James M. were disinterred from Antioch and moved to Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, on Lot SDiv.2-004. Wife Matilda died 1935 and is buried in Evergreen as well, listed on the same stone as Jonathan and their children.
