MRS. JOSEPH W DESPAIN

Mrs. Joseph W. DeSPAIN, 63, of 1212 S. Seventh street, a resident of Burlington 32 years, died Friday afternoon at Mercy hospital after 1 1/2 year illness.

The former Susan TAYLOR (sic: a/k/a "Susie"), she was born April 4, 1888, at Wataga, Ill., and was married Sept. 16, 1906, in Fairfield (sic. Fairfield, Jefferson county, Iowa) to DeSPAIN. The DeSPAINS lived in Fairfield before moving here.

Mrs. DESPAIN attended First Christian church. She was a member of Royal Neighbors and Railroad Veterans auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband; 3 daughters, Mrs. Helen KNOPP, Burlington, Mrs. Nellie NEUTMAN, and Mrs. Kathryn WARD, both of Moline, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Theodore DESPAIN, East Moline; a brother, W. R. TAYLOR, Galesburg, Ill., 3 grandsons, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Prugh's chapel with Rev. L. Z. Patton officiating. Burial wil be in Memorial Park Cemetery (sic. in Burlington, Iowa. Lot location: Rose Hill 225 Space 5).
