HOUSTON rites

Bryan HOUSTON, 80, 1003 W. Hempstead, died at 9 a.m. Monday at Keokuk Convalsescent Home in Keokuk.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. James Battey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Cancer Fund.

HOUSTON was born July 6, 1907 in Gentryville, Ind., the son of W.P. and Etta TOOL HOUSTON. He served with Anti-Aircraft Artillery in World War II. He married Annabell HAGANS on April 6, 1957 in Iowa City, and was employed with Jefferson County Maintenance for a number of years.

Surviving are his wife; a son Delbert of Fairfield; six step children, John COOK, Nancy BILLINGSLEY, both of Rockville, Md.; Larry COOK, Mount Pleasant; Linda GRIDLEY, Howard COOK, both of Fairfield; Joyce MARKIN of Monroe City, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche CHRISTNER of Hayesville, and Tempest FARRIER of Brighton.

Note: Buried in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, in lot Devotion A 191 - space 6. Annabell died in 2000 and is also buried at Memorial Lawn.
