OBITUARY.

James CLINE was born in Virginia May 7th, 1813, and died at Abingdon May 4th, 1901. Had he lived four days more he would have been eighty-eight years old. When he was a boy he moved with his parents to Pennsylvania and from there to Ohio. After his marriage to Mary A. RAMEY he moved with his family to Iowa, where he has since resided. His wife died in 1869 and he was married to Catherine KEMP, and, after her decease, to Sarah D. GAMBEL, who lives to mourn his loss. He was the father of ten children, six of whom are still living. He became a christian in 1854 and lived a faithful, christian life. He was a good citizen and neighbor, and always lived an honest, honorable life. During his last years he was badly afflicted with sickness, but bore his sufferings with the courage and patience which ever characterized the christian life he lived. He always spoke of his coming death as though it was a journey home to see the loved ones who had gone before and to await the dear friends left to mourn for him. Funeral services were held at the Christian church at Abingon, conducted by Elder C. R. Hunt. The friends have the warmest sympathy in this their time of sorrow and bereavement.

Mrs. CLINE wishes to express her most sincere thanks to the friends and neighbors who gave her so much kindly assistance during the sickness and death of her husband.
