Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

Tony A. STEPHENS, 65, of Richland, died early Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at home.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Richland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Wilbur Morfitt officiating. The body has been cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Packwood Cemetery.
Memorials to Richland Volunteer First Responders may be left at the church or may be mailed to the family at 506 N. Richland St., Richland 52585.
Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Richland.
Mr. STEPHENS was born July 15, 1945, in Ottumwa, the son of Nelson and Jessie Lela DAVIS STEPHENS. He married Patty PRENGER in 1965. They later divorced.
Mr. STEPHENS grew up in the Abingdon area near Packwood. He attended Packwood schools and graduated from Pekin High School in 1963 and Davenport Barber College. He had been a salesman and had operated Tony's Barbershop in Hedrick and later in Richland.
He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Lagos Acres Country Club in Keota.
Survivors include two children: Tara GIBERSON and husband James of North Liberty and Derek STEPHENS and wife Angie of Richland; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Geraldine BAIER.
