Mary Lou BROWN, 71, of rural Milton, died Monday, June 13, 2011, at home.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Troy Cemetery.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will be present 6-7:30 p.m.
Gifts to a memorial to be designated at a later time by the family may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 11075 Route J40, Milton 52570.
Mrs. BROWN was born Feb. 23, 1940, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Glenn W. and Pauline PENROD LEWIS. She married Donald J. BROWN May 9, 1959, in Pulaski.
Mrs. BROWN graduated from Troy High School in 1958. She lived her entire life in Davis and Van Buren counties. She was a wife, mother and homemaker.
Mrs. BROWN loved the sound of the whippoorwill, Bob White and crickets and night. She enjoyed riding horses, watching and naming the cows and sitting outside and watching hummingbirds. She also enjoyed genealogy and researched the BROWN and LEWIS family heritages. She was a Cubs and Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Bill BROWN of Troy and Donita BENEDICT of Danville; two grandchildren; and one sister, Donna LEE of Douds.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
