F. M. BATES DIES IN DAVENPORT.

Fay Maynard BATES, 92, former resident of the Prairie Chapel community near Fairfield, died at 8:30 a.m. today at the Mercy hospital in Davenport. He was a resident of Davenport. The body will be shipped to Fairfield where last rites will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Wheeler cemetery northeast of Fairfield. Fay Maynard BATES was born Aug. 23, 1869, in Oquawka, Ill. He was married to Mary Jane FITE (sic - Sarah J. FITE) who died Feb. 27, 1915 (sic - 16 Feb 1916). Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Zua BEAGLE, Davenport; one son, Myron L. BATES, New London; four grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and a sister.
