Helen M. BAIOTTO

Helen M. BAIOTTO, 91, formerly of Rubio, died at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Friends Church. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin ar 4 p.m. Wednesday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the family present 4-7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus and left at the funeral home or church. Memorials also may be mailed to the family at 31377 310th St., Richland 52585.

Mrs. BAIOTTO was born May 9, 1920, in Knoxville, the daughter of Earl and Inella McDANIEL WATKINS. She married Paul BAIOTTO July 30, 1941, in Des Moines. He died March 22, 2007.

Mrs. BAIOTTO attended Knoxville schools through grade school, then Pershing schools and traduated from Attica High School in 1937. The BAIOTTOs lived in Des Moines, Union and Bangor before moving to Arnolds Park, where they lived for 29 years before moving to Rubio. Mrs. BAIOTTO was a stay-at-home mother and pastor's wife. She raised her own family, her brother Larry, two nephews and many other children who needed help of some kind.

Mrs. BAIOTTO taught Sunday school and was the church pianist and organist. She had been active in Arnolds Park Ladies Aid, Rubio Ladies Club and several kitchen bands, which she organized and led. She retired in 1991.

Survivors include three daughters: Beth MILLER of Boerne, Texas, Marily CELLAMARE and husband Nino of Marion and Carol LONG of Richland; three sons: Mike BAIOTTO and wife Jacki of Staunton, Va., Chris CAREY of Las Vegas, Nev., and David CAREY of Tempe, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters: Eldred TOIGO of Des Moines and Dorothy DREYFUS and Connie SNYDER, both of Arizona; and one brother: Don WATKINS of Arizona.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Dave and Larry WATKINS; one sister: Marilyn BOLTON; and three grandchildren.
