LIFE OF THE LATE WILLIAM KRUMBOLTZ

William KRUMBOLTZ, son of John and Wilhemine KRUMBOLTZ was born seventeen days. (sic)

He united in marriage with Emma Frances WALGREN April 18, 1888, and to this union nine children were born: Ruth, wife of Clarence PETERSON; Maud, wife of Carl ANDERSON; Rollie at home; Naomi, wife of Townsend SCHILLERSTROM; Marion, Dwight, a student in the University of Michigan; Dorothy and the twins, Orris and Orlo (sic - Arlo?) at home.

Mr. KRUMBOLTZ as a boy was confirmed in the German Lutheran church, and as a young man united with the Presbyterian church of Salina. He continued his labors of love in the Christian life in this community. As an honored elder for more than thirty years, and much of that time the Sunday school superintendent. His church received his council and help in services, Presbytery, synod and general assembly.

William KRUMBOLTZ was a prosperous man. Yet he placed "first things" first. Religion to him was real. He loved God and came to know him intimately through Jesus Christ. It was his faithfulness and his money in the cause that helped so largely to promote the church and religion in this community.

He is survived by is faithful wife and four children; four brothers, his parents and one sister, Mrs. Chas. BERG preceding him in death, and three grand-children. Of all these his passing is mourned and by a large relationship and a host of friends.

The funeral was held from the Salina Presbyterian church at two p.m. Wednesday, July 27, conducted by Rev. Glenn J. Schillerstrom of Williamsburg assisted by Rev. H. O. Bethel, pastor at large of the Presbytery of Iowa and Rev. L. E. Koenig, field representative of the board of publicaiton and Sabbath school work for the synod of Iowa. Rev. Schillerstrom went into the ministry from the Salina church. Thus it was a happy providence that representatives of the local church, Presbytery and synod had charge of the funeral of this man who for over thirty years had been a faithful elder in the Presbyterian church.
