Leonora M. McCOY

Leonora M. McCOY, 78, of Hazelwood, Mo., formerly of the Mount Sterling and Keosauqua area, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, in St. Louis, Mo.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery, north of Bonaparte.

Open visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will be present 6-8 p.m.

Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 7505 Foxfield Court, Hazelwood, MO 63042.

Mrs. McCOY was born Aug. 22, 1932 in Pulaski, the daughter of Wayne and Huba COHAGAN HUNT. She married David McCOY Nov. 27, 1957, in Mount Sterling.

Mrs. McCOY graduated from Keosauqua High School and University of Iowa College of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at several Iowa and Illinois locations.

Mrs. McCOY was a member of United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, LeAnn CARSON and husband Keith of Luda, Ill., Lynne McCOY and husband Aki SAWADA of Morrisville, N.C., and Roxanne McCOY of Columbus, Ohio; three sons, Mark McCOY and wife Gail of Howell, Mich., Michael McCOY and wife Kelly QUIRKE of Florissant, Mo., and Matthew McCOY of Hazelwood, Mo.; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Geraldine SNODGRASS of Keosauqua and Letitia WEBBER of Stockport.

She was preceded in deat by hr (sic) parents and one grandson.
