BATAVIA. Stanley M. SALTS, 59, Batavia R.2, died Tues. (sic - Monday?) at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. Had been in poor health for 16 years. Born Sept 16 1909 in Washington County, son of James and Ella HOLMES SALTS. Most of his life was spent in Jefferson County. Veteran of WW2 (sic); married Sept 17 1949 Mary CARNES who survives. Formerly employed at Iowa Malleable Iron Co. Also survived by one brother, Forrest SALTS, Fairfield R.4. Six brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Burial in McCleary Cemetery.
