Saturday Feb. 14, 1976R. C. HICKENBOTTOM Dies
Raymond C. HICKENBOTTOM, 53, 405 W. Monroe, died Friday at 6:30 p.m. at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Death was caused by cancer. He had been in failing health for six months and seriously ill for six weeks.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 7:30 to 9.
HICKENBOTTOM had been employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad for the past 27 years. He was a work equipment operator.
He was born Oct. 12, 1922 at Agency, the son of Ralph and Pearl GREEN HICKENBOTTOM. He was married to Betty Lou BARKER Sept. 3, 1951.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Paul of Galveston, Tex., and Ralph of Fairfield; one stepson, David LANKFORD of Fairfield; and two daughters, Mrs. Larry CASTEEL, Clarskville (sic. Clarksville??), Tenn., and Mrs. Chris JOHNSON, Fairfield.
Also surviving are two grandchildren and his mother, Mrs. Ralph HICKENBOTTOM, Fairfield.
