Bertha A. 'Bert' KERR

Bertha A. "Bert" KERR, 79, of Washington, Ill., died at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at home.

A memorial service will be at noon Tuesday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, Ill., with the Rev. Rebecca Weltmann officiating. Cremation has been accorded, and burial of the cremated remains will follow the service at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials in may be made (sic) to OSF Hospice.

Mrs. KERR was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Fairfield, the daughter of Frank H. and Caroline KURTZ KASOWSKI. She married William Robert "Bob" KERR Dec. 22, 1952, in Rockford, Ill.

Mrs. KERR worked in various administrative functions at the corporate headquarters of Caterpillar Tractor Company, retiring in 1993.

She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, bowling with friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska and Hawaii.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, William John KERR and wife Christine of Kentwood, Mich., and David B. KERR and wife Janice of Naperville, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
