POULTON RITES OTTUWMA TODAY

Was A Former Fairfield Resident and Brother of Mrs. B.R. CRAIL

The last rites for James Charles POULTON, who died Tuesday night about 11 oclock at his home, 123 North Green street, in Ottumwa after a year's illness, were held this afternoon at 2 oclock from the Lester Jay funeral parlors there. Rev. A. A. Heath, D.D., conducted the services. The body was brought to this city for burial in the family lot at Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. POULTON was the oldest son of John and Elizabeth POULTON and was born in this city July 8, 1861. He is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Ella TRUE of Eddyville, and a sister, Mrs. B.F. CRAIL of this city.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas POULTON, and a sister, Jennie Addis POULTON.

Mr. POULTON had been in the barber business in Ottumwa for more than forty years, conducting his business during that time at one place, 324 East Main street. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose, Odd Fellows, Woodmen and Knights of Pythias lodges.
