Caleb SWOPE, a former resident of this county, died at Mt. Pleasant the 10th inst. His remains were brought here for burial, and were interred in the Fiedler cemetery in Round Prairie Township. He was a son of the late John SWOPE, one of the early settlers of this county, and was born and grew to manhood in Round Prairie township.... Mr. SWOPE was fifty-three years of age. He was married in early life, and had a wife and two children, all of whom are dead.

Note: Buried Fiedler Cemetery with wife Rebecca LOVING SWOPE and their son, John C., who died at age 13 in 1888. Caleb was 52 years, 5 months and 14 days at death, or in his 53rd year.
