Life of Mrs. DUNLAVY.

Frances MILLER DUNLAVY was born in Glasgow, Iowa June 25, 1850. Died in Cedar township, Jefferson county, Iowa Dec. 15, 1907, age 57 years, 5 months and 20 days.

She was the ninth child in a family of twelve. Two brothers and five sisters survive her. Her parents, Thomas and Eliza MOORE MILLER, were among the very early settler's of Glasgow (sic). They were of that sturdy pioneer blood that "leave footprints on the sands of time"(.) Fanny MILLER inherited her share of those traits and as time flits by in the years to come we shall recall her to our memories by the land marks her living has imprinted there.

A new country is subject to changes. This is a new country since we still have with us some of the first settlers but how few there are who can sit at home and looking down the street see their first home and last abode and say I have never known another community. Fanny could do this. Her babyhood, youth and womanhood were passed within the one neighborhood.

Mrs. DUNLAVY was educated at Denmark academy. Here her ready mind, quick wit and industry won pleasure for her instructors who are credited among Iowa's greatest educators.

January 1, 1883 she was united in marriage with John M. DUNLAVY. Soon after they settled on the "Fierce farm" where they lived seven year (sic). In 1890 they bought the "Fell farm" where they toiled to build a home that has given them comfort and pleasure.

Fanny DUNLAVY did not live in vain. In married life she was a rare neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand. As hostess she had no superiors. As sister and relative she was ever devoted and true. As wife her constant devotion to home and husband made her worthy of emulation. Her constant love, trust and fidelity gave her power not only in her home but in the community that words cannot explain. Only we know the fact God gives the power because God is love.

Funeral services were held at Ebenezer church Dec. 17, 1907, conducted by Rev. J. Lee. Interment was made in the Fairfield cemetery (sic - Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield).
