June GIRARD

June GIRARD, 81, of Ocala, Fla., died at 4 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at Marion County Hospice in Ocala, Fla.

No service is planned.

Memorials may be made to the Morris Park Fund and sent in care of Marilyn Boley at 141 N. Liberty St., Birmingham 52535.

Mrs. GIRARD was born May 2, 1930, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Kayle and Verna MORRIS DODDS. She married Albert L. GIRARD Aug. 2, 1952, at the Christian church in Fairfield. He died May 1, 1997.

Mrs. GIRARD graduated from Fairfield High School in 1948. She attended nurse's training at the Burlington hospital, graduating in 1951. She worked at the veterans' affairs hospital in Chicago, Ill., for one year. Her family moved to Florida in 1963, and Mrs. GIRARD worked for a private physician for many years.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy SIMPKINS of Ocala, Fla.; one son, Michael GIRARD and wife Susan of Morrison, Colo.; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Marilyn BOLEY of Birmingham and Kay WINGATE of New London, N.C.
