Mary Margaret RICHENBERGER

Mary Margaret RICHENBERGER, 97, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, April 11, 2011, at Pleasant Manor Care Center.

A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Open visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with a rosary at 5 p.m.

A memorial has been established to St. Alphonsus Church. Online condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com.

Ms. RICHENBERGER was born March 11, 1914, the daughter of Joseph and Emma GLANZMAN RICHENBERGER.

Ms. RICHENBERGER was a 1932 graduate of Pleasant Lawn High School and a lifelong resident of the Mount Pleasant area. As a young adult, she worked in the office at Iowa Wesleyan College. Following her employment at the college, Ms. RICHENBERGER pressed clothes at Smitty's Dry Cleaners. For the remainder of her working years, she worked in the catalog department of Montgomery Ward.

Ms. RICHENBERGER was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where she participated in Daughters of Isabella and Altar and Rosary Society. For years, she cleaned the church's linens.

Ms. RICHENBERGER enjoyed cooking and reading.

Survivors include one niece, Beverly KENNEDY of Mount Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank RICHENBERGER and Harold RICHENBERGER; and a sister, Florence HEATER.
