E. Maxine WHIPPLE

E. Maxine WHIPPLE age 84 of 3000 West Madison Ave., Fairfield, formerly of Batavia and Libertyville, died on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Jefferson County Health Center.

She was born Edith Maxine PAYNE on March 1, 1927 in Wapello County, near Batavia. Her parents were Harry Arnold PAYNE and Eliza Ellen REINIER PAYNE. Maxine married Richard WHIPPLE on June 8, 1946, at Agency, Iowa.

She was a homemaker and had worked as a sales clerk in the florist shop for Whitham Nursery. She attended Indian Hills Community College and received a diploma in horticulture.

Maxine was a member of Faith United Methodist Church at Libertyville, Batavia T.T.T. and Batavia Literary Guild, Faith United Methodist Women and was past matron of Order of Eastern Star.

Deceased family members include her husband, 1 daughter Vicky MANNING, 1 son-in-law Keith MANNING, parents and 2 brothers Lawrence PAYNE and Clarence PAYNE.

Surviving are 3 children: Steven (Rita) WHIPPLE of Cosby, Mo.; Carla (Butch) BLOOMQUIST of Fairfield and Greg WHIPPLE of Zionsville, Indiana. 5 Grandsons: Lance and Matt WHIPPLE; Jason and Eric MANNING and Derek BLOOMQUIST; 3 great grandsons: Lance Tyler WHIPPLE, Zachery WHIPPLE and Sammy WHIPPLE and 1 great granddaughter Natalie WHIPPLE. and 1 sister Audrey MURRAY of Texas.

A celebration of Life will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 9th at Faith United Methodist Church at Libertyville with Pastor Peggy Ellingson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Cremation has been accorded.
