Maxine L. LOEFFLER

Maxine L. LOEFFLER, 87, of Brighton, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brighton United Church, with the Rev. Sallie Graves officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Brighton United Church or Brighton Volunteer First Responders may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 3171 120th St., Brighton 52540.

Mrs. LOEFFLER was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Hayesville, the daughter of Fred H. and Sylvia M. GULLETT MORROW. She married Dwight G. LOEFFLER July 29, 1946, in Washington. He died Feb. 10, 1993.

Mrs. LOEFFLER grew up in the Hayesville area and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1941. She and her husband farmed near Brighton. She also worked in Dr. J. W. Budding's veterinary office in Brighton, at J.C. Penney in Washington, McCleery Cummings Co. in Washington, Iowa Adjustment in Cedar Rapids and Credit Bureau in Cedar Rapids. She had also worked as the financial secretary for Brighton United Church.

Mrs. LOEFFLER was a member of Hopewell Club, southeast of Brighton, and Brighton United Church.

Survivors include two sons: Dennis LOEFFLER and wife Karen of Cedar Rapids and Douglas LOEFFLER and wife Marcella of Brighton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Debra Sue; and one sister, Loretta FRITCHEN.
