Mrs. Barbara GILMORE (sic - GILMER) a resident of this county since 1849, died at the home of her son Charles GILMORE (sic) near Batavia on Saturday last. Consumption. Wife of Squire GILMORE (sic - William Squire GILMER) who died in this county 31 years ago.

Note: Barbara's maiden name was DOUGHERTY. She is an adopted daughter of David FANSHER, and was noted in the FANSHER Will. She and husband William are buried in the Gilmer Cemetery. Her son Charles (and his wife Emma BARR GILMER) is buried in Brooks Cemetery.
