"PLEASANT PLAIN. Mrs. Ethel Singleton, 76, Pleasant Plain, died Tues. at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant. Services will be held Thursday 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Plain Friends Church. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery. Born Aug. 24, 1890 at Cantril, daughter of Sylvester and Dora Bailey Smith; married to Floyd Singleton Jan. 6, 1908. He died in Oct. 1957. She was a member of the Friends Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Glenn West, Grinnell; one son, the Rev. Floyd Smith, Owensboro, Ky.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Alice Moore, Burlington; and three brothers, Arnold Smith of California, Virgil Smith of Washington and Wade Bowen, Knoxville."
