Frederick NICKELS died in Cedar Township, nine miles southeast of this city, Thursday. He was born at Frederick, Md., in June, 1803, and was the oldest man in Jefferson County. Mr. NICKELS first came to Jefferson County in the early '60's, and, after an absence of several years, returned to spend the remainder of his life here. The was a bluff, jovial man of many kindly qualities, and in his earlier and more active years had many warm friends in this city. The body was interred here Friday, funeral services being held at the home of a son, L. F. NICKELS, in the southwestern part of the city.
