Kathryn E. WICHHART, 94, of Keosauqua, died at 4 a.m. today, Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren Hospice in Keosauqua.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Keosauqua United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present from 3-5 p.m.
Memorials to Keosauqua United Methodist Church or Keosauqua Fire Department may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 22577 Maple Ave., Keosauqua 52565.
Mrs. WICHHART was born May 1, 1916, in Fairfield, the daughter of Thomas and Nellie STARK POLLOCK. She married Roy WICHHART May 12, 1937, in Lancaster, Mo. He died April 28, 1985.
The WICHHARTs lived in Fairfield until moving to a farm near Keosauqua in 1956. They moved into town in 1974. Mrs. WICHHART was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeping supervisor at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center. She also had cared for elderly in their homes.
Mrs. WICHHART was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Gary WICHHART and wife Marcia of Rockford, Ill.; three daughters, Diane BARTHOLOMEW and husband Larry of Keosauqua, Rose Mary CHARBONNEAU and husband Ray of Keosauqua and Christine WILEY and husband Bob of Lees Summit, Mo.; two daughters-in-law, Vicki WICHHART of Bonaparte and Nancy WICHHART of McHenry, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris SCOLES of Marion.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Don and Thomas WICHHART; and one great-grandson.
