DEATH TAKES DELL M. ROOT

Dell M. ROOT, 78, longtime resident of Jefferson county, passed away at the Jefferson county hospital at 1:00 a.m. today. He had been a patient at the hospital just nine hours before his death. Mr. ROOT had been ill for the past six weeks.

Last rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of Rev. Merle Hill. Burial will be in Bethesda cemetery.

Mr. ROOT was born September 28, 1868, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late A.C. and Elizabeth MAXWELL ROOT. He came to Iowa when he was three years of age and had lived in the county for many years.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jennie PRINCE, east of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Victor, preceded him in death.
