Page 8, Column 3Illness Fatal To Harry GRIFFITH
Harry L. GRIFFITH, 705 S. Fourth street, died last night at the Jefferson County hospital after an illness of several months. A veteran employee of the Louden Machinery Co., he had been seriously ill since January.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of Dr. L. L. Weis. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
GRIFFITH had been a resident of Fairfield for 35 years and a foreman at the Louden plant for 32 years. He was born April 24, 1895 at What Cheer, the son of Edward and Rose LEONARD GRIFFITH. He was married to Nelle M. FERRIS Sept. 29, 1919, at Albia.
A veteran of World War I, he served 16 months in the U. S. army. He was a member of the Christian church at Albia and the Fairfield American Legion.
GRIFFITH is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Jean M. HARRISON, Fairfield, and Mrs. Carol J. SCHAUB, Chicago, Ill. Other survivors are his mother, Mrs. Rose GRIFFITH, Des Moines; two grandchildren, and the following brothers: Charles GRIFFITH, Parkville, Mo.; J. A. GRIFFITH, William GRIFFITH and Earl GRIFFITH, all of Des Moines. His father and one brother preceded him in death.
