Killed In Auto Crash AT Tucson

Harold DROZ, 36, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaston DROZ, route 3, Fairfield, was killed in a traffic accident at Tucson, Ariz., about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Information reaching here said he was delivering a foreign-made car and was hit by a wrecker at a street intersection in Tucson. He was employed by the Young Buick company of that city.

His parents were visiting their son and family in Tucson when the crash occurred. They were scheduled to start home today.

DROZ is survived by his wife, the former Fern SCHULER of Humboldt, Iowa, and daughter Jan, ten months old. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. James SHANNEN who resides southeast of Fairfield.

DROZ Rites To Be Saturday

STOCKPORT, Ia. – Last rites for Harold E. DROZ, 36, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home in Fairfield. The services will be in charge of the Rev. John G. Balensky and burial will be in the Maple Hill cemetery at Birmingham. The casket will not be open.

DROZ was instantly killed in a traffic accident Tuesday evening at Tucson, Arizonia (sic), where he and his family made their home.

Harold E. DROZ was born Aug. 26, 1923, at Fairfield, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaston DROZ. He was united in marriage to Fern SCHULER, Humboldt.

Before moving to Tucson several months ago, he had been engaged in business at Stockport and Keosauqua. He was a member of the BPO Elks and the Eagles lodge (sic – Aerie) at Fairfield.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Jan, ten months old; and a sister, Mrs. James SHANNEN who resides southeast of Fairfield.

DROZ Body Will Arrive Friday

The body of Harold DROZ, former Jefferson county resident, will arrive in Fairfield early Friday morning for last rites and burial. The body will be taken to the Weston Behner funeral home where final arrangements will be made.

DROZ, 36, was killed Tuesday evening in an auto accident at Tucson, Ariz., where he had made his home for the past year.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gaston DROZ, route 3, Fairfield, were visiting at the home of their son at the time of his death. They were scheduled to arrive home today by plane.

DROZ was killed when the new car he was delivering collided with a wrecker at an intersection in tucson. He was employed at the Young Buick company.
