Alice L. WELLS

Alice L. WELLS, 74, formerly of Eldon, died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery west of Selma.

Open visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Eldon United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 2233 Birch Ave., Batavia 52533.

Mrs. WELLS was born July 18, 1936, in Salisbury, Mo., the daughter of Elvin Elwood and Anna Pearl HUTCHINSON WINN. She married Ross L. WELLS in 1976. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. WELLS grew up in Salisbury, Mo., and graduated from Salisbury High School. She and her husband lived in Brunswick, Mo., Des Moines and Eldon. Mrs. WELLS had worked at Allied Insurance in Des Moines and in the Agency United Methodist Church office.

She was a member of Eldon United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Steve GRIMSLEY of Keokuk and Gary GRIMSLEY of Dalton, Mo.; one daughter, Debra WISE of Carrollton, Mo.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Mike WELLS of Sigourney and Allen WELLS and wife Julie of Batavia; one stepdaughter, Debra WHARTON and husband Jedd of Batavia; seven stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and one brother, Lawrence WINN of Independence, Mo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
