On behalf of Nancy MORENUS, Michael and Ann Koch are sad to report the sudden death of her dear husband Charles "Charlie" Brant MORENUS. Charlie MORENUS, 59, of Fairfield, IA, passed away Saturday evening, January 22, 2011 from complications with asthma at the Jefferson County Health Center.
Charlie was a dear friend to many, many citizens here and throughout the USA who were embraced by the joyful love and enthusiasm with which Charlie lived his life. He loved people, life, sports and meditation. He was an astute business man, avid tennis player and enjoyed golf, skiing and racket ball. He additionally helped manage one of the local softball teams. He gave generously of his time to charitable work. He was especually devoted to his own personal spiritual growth and world peace through Transcendental Meditation. He was a devoted husband, brother, friend, colleague and uncle. Charles earned a BA Degree in Business & Psychology from Salem College in 1973 and MBA from University of Scranton in 1980. Until his business career was launched in 1985, he spent all of his time training for and then later teaching Transcendental Meditation full time.
Charlie will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. He touched many lives by his enthusiasm for life and genuine good heartedness. He is survived by his wife Nancy, sister Mary Beth FAY, brother Eugene O. MORENUS, nieces, nephews, cousins and inlaws.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 5th, at 1:30 PM at the Maharishi School "Clark Auditorium" at 804 Dr. Robert Keith Wallace Drive, Fairfield, IA 52556. Additional parking is available at the Recreational Center nearby.
To assist with medical expenses (bronchial asthma as a pre existing condition was not covered by insurance), a Memorial Fund has been established.
