Dr. W. F. Rex Officiated; Interment Evergreen Cemetery
Funeral services for William WERNER, who passed away Monday afternoon (sic – November 30, 1931) following a serious operation, were held from the First Lutheran church at 2:00 o’clock (sic) yesterday. Dr. W. F. Rex officiated at the last rites.
Miss Cora Ball sang “Rock of Ages” and “Going Down the Valley,” accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Glen Bates.
The church was filled to overflowing with relatives and friends who had come to pay their last respects to one who had won their esteem and affection. Many beautiful floral offerings were banked about the casket in mute testimony.
The pall bearers were Floyd Eyestone, Harry Parsons, Arthur Johnson, Roy Junkin, Fred Messer and Logan Ogden. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
Out-of-town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrss. (sic) Russell Bonar and daughter of Libertyville, Mr. and Mrs. Fred WERNER of Washington, Clifford and Bernadine McKeel and Danny Horton of Peoria, Ill.
