MMRS. A. W. HISEL (sic)

The entire community was shocked when the sad news was learned that Mrs. A. W. HISEL had passed to her Heavenly home.

Bertha L. HILL was born Oct. 16, 1870, was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James HILL, raised and grew to womanhood on a farm near Libertyville, where she was loved and esteemed by all who knew her.

Her parents passed away several years ago.

On Oct. 21, 1924 she was united in marriage to A. W. HISEL of Cedar township, where she presided as a happy wife on the farm, always enjoying health until Aug. 29, 1929 when she suffered a stroke of paralysis, caused from high blood pressure, being in frail health since then, yet she was cheerful and unselfish ever hopeful and only a short time ago expressed herself 'that she was gaining fast and by summer time would again be in her usual health."

Evan as late as last Thursday she was in Fairfield. Saturday afternoon she complained of a pain in her head. A doctor was summoned but he thought nothing serious but at 5:30 oclock almost without a struggle she passed to the great Beyond leaving a husband awe stricken.

With the death of Mrs. HISEL the community has lost a fine Christain (sic) woman, always interested in all good Christain work. Her interest and love for children was shown when she made a home and gave a loving mother's care to her husband's two children by a former marriage and "mother" as they have always called her, has filled the place and they never realized they were bereft of mother's care in early childhood and now since they have reached manhood and womanhood can bless her who did so much for them.

All through her failing health she was always thinking of her loved ones and not of herself.

Mrs. HISEL's life full of thoughtful kindnesses has won and held the affection of countless friends many of whom were influenced by her gentle unassuming character. It is safe to say she had no enemies., as she loved all humankind. As a member of the church, staunch and true since early childhood, and lived a Christian woman of dauntless faith and her life serves as a commendable example for the younger generation to follow.

Besides her beloved husband, A. W. HISEL, daughter Velma, son Glen and wife and granddaughter Mildred, she leaves two brothers, J. W. HILL and wife of Libertyville and D. N. HILL and wife of Davenport, a niece Velma HILL and a nephew, Lawrence HILL and wife Goldie HILL who was raised in the HILL home from childhood and was the same as a sister to Mrs. HISEL all through life. She is now Mrs. Ernest FRAZIER of Glasgow and scores of friends and neighbors regret the passing of this excellent woman.
