L. L. FISCHER DIES TODAY
Services to be held Wednesday afternoon for well known farmer

L. L. FISCHER, 75, well-known Jefferson county farmer, passed away at 8 o’clock this morning at the Jefferson county hospital, where he had been taken on April 18. He had been seriously ill for the past ten days.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Hoskins Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. FISCHER was born April 18, 1866. He had made his home on a farm three and one-half miles north of Fairfield, on Highway No. 1, for the past 49 years. He was the last of his family, his wife having passed away June 16, 1936.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Leonard FLEIG, of Stockport, and Robert FISCHER of Fairfield; one daughter-in-law Mrs. Lucille FISCHER KING of Fairfield, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews of Muscatine.

Out of Town Persons Attend Last Rites For L. L. FISCHER

Among the out of town relatives in attendance Thursday at the funeral of L. L. FISCHER were his nieces and nephew of Muscatine, Misses Ethel, Wilma and Flora and Ralph FISCHER. Others were Mr. and Mrs. John Hagerla and daughter Grace, Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Hagerla and Robert FARRELL (sic) all of West Burlington.

The funeral was held at the Hoskins funeral home with S. P. Williamson, pastor of the Fairfield christian church in charge.

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of L. L. FISCHER, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson County, and that Friday, May 9th A. D. 1941 at 9:30 o'clock A. M. has been set for proof and final hearing of same.

Witness my hand and the seal of said Court, this 2nd day of May, 1941.

OBITUARY

Lawrence L. FISCHER

Lawrence Louis FISCHER, better known as L. L. FISCHER was born near Muscatine on April 18, 1866 and passed away at the Jefferson county hospital on Monday morning, April 28. He had been ill for the past ten days of heart trouble. He was taken ill on the eve of his 75th birthday and was seemingly on the road to recovery when he suddenly passed from our midst.

He had made his home on a farm 3½ miles north of Fairfield on highway No. 1 for the past 49 years. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. His wife passed away June 15, 1936. He is survived by two children, Mrs. Leonard FLEIG of Stockport and Robert FISCHER of Fairfield; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lucille FISCHER KING also of Fairfield; several grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews of Muscatine.

Funeral services were held from the Hoskins funeral home last Wednesday. The hymns "Abide With Me" and "Perfect Day" were sung by Ellery Kyle accompanied by Marshall Barnes. Pall bearers were Jess Davisson, Ed Flinspach, Robert Hudgell, Albert Kann, Charles Hedge and Ed Rains. S. P. Williamson, minister of the First Christian church conducted the services. The remains were laid to rest by the side of his wife in Evergreen cemetery.

FISCHER WILL IS READ TODAY
Bulk of estate to two children; cash bequests to grandchildren

The will of the late L. L. FISCHER was read in Jefferson county District Court this morning. Mr. FISCHER's son Robert FISCHER is named executor under the will.

Provision was made that the remainder of Mr. FISCHER's estate go to his wife, in the event that she survived him. Mrs. FISCHER passed away in 1936.

In the event that she preceded him in death, Mr. FISCHER stipulated that cash bequests of $1,000 be given to each of his two grandchildren, Doris and Thelma. The balance of the estate is to be divided equally between Robert FISCHER and Mrs. Larue FISCHER FLEIG.
