Fairfield Youth Killed In Car Wreck Saturday

William Marshall CROW, 16 year old son of Dr. and Mrs. I. N. CROW lost his life in a car accident Saturday afternoon about 1:30. The mishap took place east of the Skunk river bridge on highway 34, about five miles west of Mt. Pleasant.

Two other Fairfield youths, Chester Danielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Danielson and James Jenness, son of Prof. And Mrs. J. R. Jenness of Parsons college were in the car with CROW.

Funeral services for William CROW will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist church. Dr. M. A. Gable will be in charge of the services and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

The body will remain at the Hoskins funeral home until 12:30 p.m. the day of the funeral, at which time it will be taken to the church and lie in state until 1:30 p.m.

It was announced this morning that members of the Fairfield High school Junior Class, the band, orchestra, boys’ glee club, mixed chorus and Fairfield public schools Music Auxiliary will attend the funeral in a body.

William CROW was born November 30, 1925, in Fairfield, Iowa. Surviving are his parents, Dr. and Mrs. I. N. CROW; one sister, Barbara Jean of Chicago; one brother, Herbert, in the Army Air Corps at Santa Ana, Calif. and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. BROWN, of Des Moines.

“Bill” CROW was popular among his fellow students. He attended Fairfield grade schools and was a member of the Junior class. He was a talented musician and took an active part in musical activities. He was a member of the High School band and orchestra, boys glee club, mixed chorus and several smaller groups.

He was a member of the Trumpet Trio which was above the average in High school circles, and won more than their share of honors in music contests.

He was in the cast of the Junior play which was to have been given Friday night.
