MRS. BRISTOW CALLED AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Former Fairfield School Teacher Dies at Home Last Night

Mrs. Zora BRISTOW, wife of William R. BRISTOW, passed away last evening at 10:40 at their home 51 West Kirkwood. She had been in failing health for the last five months having undergone a major operation at the Jefferson County hospital in February. For the past four weeks she suffered greatly but had borne it with the utmost patience. During this time her twin sister Mrs. Sylman HESTON northwest of the city and her eldest sister, Mrs. Emery EDWARDS of Cedar have been with her.

Mrs. W. S. FOLLEN of this city, who is also a sister of Mrs. BRISTOW, recently underwent an operation and was unable to be with her in her last illness.

Mrs. BRISTOW has been a most efficient teacher in the Fairfield schools for the past six years, one year of which was in the Central building and five years in the Lincoln building. She was greatly loved and respected by her students and fellow teachers and the influence of her smile and cheerful outlook on life has been deeply felt by all who came in contact with her.

Mrs. BRISTOW was the former Zora ECK, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F.L. ECK. She was born at Pleasant Plain, Iowa Jan. 19, 1893. Besides her husband she is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Ralhp (sic. Ralph??) ECK of Woolson, Will ECK of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Emery EDWARDS of Cedar and Mrs. Sylman HESTON and Mrs. W. S. FOLLEN of this city.

Mrs. BRISTOW was a member of the Methodist church and an active worker in the Philathea class. She was also a charter member of the Tri-T society, and a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood, Order of Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary.

The body was taken to the Hoskins Funeral home and will be returned to the family home this evening.

The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the First Methodist church at 2:00 o'clock. in charge of Dr. U.S. Smith. The body was taken from the Hoskins Funeral Parlors to the BRISTOW home, at 1:00 o'clock today.

The burial will be in the Friends cemetery in Pleasant Plain. The body will be taken to the Friends Church in Pleasant Plain where it may be viewed by friends Friday afternoon. There will be no services in Pleasant Plain.
