"PLEASANT PLAIN. Another pioneer has gone to her reward. Mrs. Mary Jane Hull passed away last Saturday evening of heart failure. Mary Jane Hull was 81 years old last August and leaves a large number of relatives and friends. One brother, Franklin, lives in Kansas. . . . .Her husband, Henry Hull, preceded her in death some three years ago. Bur. Tues. 10:30 o'clock in the Friends Cemetery."

"Mary Jane Hoskins born Clinton Co., Ohio, Aug 11 1831. She was of a family of eight children, only one of whom, Franklin Hoskins of Kansas, survives her. Moved with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Moses Hoskins to Iowa and settled near Pleasant Plain and was married to Henry Hull of Oskaloosa Sept 16 1857. The marriage took place according to the ancient custom of Friends in the meeting house in Pleasant Plain, near where the present one stands. They made their home a few miles east of Oskaloosa until the fall of 1890 when they removed to the house in Pleasant Plain . . . . .Two children, both died in infancy . . . . .Passed to her reward Oct 12 1912, buried Friends Cemetery Oct 15 1912. . . . ."
