"PLEASANT PLAIN. James Harvey, one of the oldest residents of this part of the county, died at his home on the 15th inst. We shall try and give obituary next week."

"James Harvey, born Warren Co., Ohio July 9 1822; married Minerva Johnson Sept 2 1847. Removed to Iowa in 1850 and has resided in this community ever since; died Jan 15 1894 aged 71-6-14. Leaves one son, Jervis, of this place, and a daughter Mrs. Abi Hunt of Tobias, Kansas. . . . Remains interred in the Friends Cemetery here."

"James Harvey was born in Warren County, Ohio July 1 1822, married Minerva Johnson in 1847; removed to Iowa in 1850; died Jan 15 1894 aged 71-6-14. A pioneer business man. . . . .Friends Church. Pleasant Plain Cemetery. Leaves wife, son, daughter and several grandchildren."
