W. P. EDLER, AGED LOCAL RESIDENT, DIED HERE TODAY

W. P. EDLER, 75, resident of Fairfield since 1914, died this morning at his home in the West End Addition. He had been in poor health for the last year.

Mr. EDLER is survived by his wife; two sons, Lloyd at home, and Charles of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Fred VOGT and Mrs. Harry KNAUSS, both of Fairfield; three brothers, John, Lewis and Frank, all of Fairfield; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was born in Iowa on Sept. 21, 1862 and moved here in 1914.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Hoskins Funeral Home in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

OBITUARY

W. P. EDLER

William P. EDLER, better known as Pete EDLER son of F. C. EDLER was born at Germanville, Iowa Sept. 21, 1862 and departed this life at his home Jan. 26, 1938.

In the year of 1889 (sic - 1890) he was united in marriage to Ella SHEPARD of Brighton, Iowa and to this union two children were born. Mrs. Fred VOGT and Mrs. Harry KNAUSS both of Fairfield on April 28, 1898 he was united in marriage to Nellie FARBER of Brighton Iowa and to this union 8 children were born, 6 of them preceded him in death. Dora, Theadore, Stella, Oral, Myrtle and Edna.

He is survived by his wife and Lloyd at home and Charles EDLER, Mrs. Fred VOGT and Mrs. Harry KNAUSS all of fairfield, 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchidlren and 3 brothers, John, Lewis and Frank all of Fairfield.

He also leaves to mourn his passing many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the Hoskins Funeral Home last Friday, conducted by S. P. Williamson, Minister of the First Christian church. The hymns "In the Garden" "In the Sweet By and By" "Beautiful Isle" were sung by Mrs. William Stever and Mrs. Hoyt Lutes. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery.
