DEATHS - CHARLES W. MAJOR

Word was received in Fairfield of the death in Los Angeles, California, of Charles W. MAJOR, former resident of Ottumwa about thirty years ago. MAJOR is survived by his wife Mrs. Katherine WELLS MAJOR, who lived in Fairfield prior to her marriage (sic. married on Dec. 9, 1891 in Jefferson county, Iowa), and one daughter, Mrs. Priscilla MAJOR HUBBEL. Burial was made in Los Angeles, October 7.

Mr. MAJOR left Ottumwa about thirty years ago. He was the nephew of the late W.T. MAJOR who was connected with the Johnson-Russler Co. and the Ottumwa Iron Works.

Charles MAJOR was in the lumber business in Ottumwa, and his firm was purchased by F.A. TISDALE. After leaving Ottumwa the family went to Davenport and later to California.
