NELSON, Iva 'Arlene' -- Iva "Arlene" NELSON, 88, of Parkview Care Center, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, in Fairfield.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery.
Family visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. Cards and memorials may be sent to Tim Nelson, 2778 Douds Road, Libertyville 52567.

Mrs. NELSON was born April 20, 1922, in Packwood, the daughter of Edward and Iva RAMSEY MERCER. She married Merle "Skip" NELSON April 9, 1944, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died August 4, 2005.
Mrs. NELSON spent 71 years of her life in Jefferson County. She had been a teacher for Jefferson County rural schools. She also had worked at Colorado State University and was a homemaker.
Survivors include three children: Robert NELSON and wife Barbara of Kansas City, Mo., Pamela WOLFF and husband Ron of Bowdle, S.D., and Tim NELSON and wife Sherri of Libertyville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandcildren; two sisters: Mary HUDDLESTON of Burlington and Jean MARSHALL of Washington, Iowa; and one brother: Edward MERCER of Folsom, Calif.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Charles, Gerald, Raymond and Richard MERCER; one sister: Reva MYERS; and two infant sons.
