MRS. DAVID CASSAT DIED LAST EVENING FROM INFLUENZA

Mrs. David B. CASSAT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. CRAIL Jr., passed away at 8:15 o'clock last evening at the family home on South Main street. Her death was due to influenza from which she had suffered for a lttle over a week.

Helen Elizabeth CRAIL was bron in Fairfield, June 2, 1894, and grew to womanhood here. She graduated from the Fairfield High School with the class of 1913, and then entered Parsons College.

Her accomplishments and cheerful disposition made her a favorite in College circles and she took an active part in all affairs of student interest. She was president of her class in the Junior year. She was also president of the Y. W. C. A., and a member of the Elzevir society and of the X. Y. Z. club.

Mrs. CASSAT was a devoted member of the Methodist church and Sunday School, in the latter having served a number of years as a teacher.

Following her graduation from Parsons College she accepted a position as principal of the High School at Lucas, which she filled most acceptably until her marriage.

January 16th, 1918, she was united in marriage to Lieut. David B. CASSAT, who was about to enter the service at that time. The occasion was one of great interest in town and college circles.

Mrs. CASSAT leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband and parents, one brother James CRAIL, her two aged grandmothers Mrs. Elizabeth POULTON and Mrs. Elizabeth CRAIL, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral services will be held from the veranda of the CRAIL home at four o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The service will be in charge of Dr. C.L. Tennant, pastor of the Methodist church, and Dr. Thomas Osborn pastor of the Centerville Methodist church.

Hearts are saddened today by the death of Mrs. David B. CASSATT (sic), which occured Monday evening, December 9, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. CRAIL, Jr., on South Main street. Death was due to influenza and followed an illness of a few days' duration.

Helen Elizabeth CRAIL was born in Fairfield June 2, 1894. She graduated from the Fairfield high school with the class of 1913 and from Parsons college in 1917 and was president of her class in the junior year and was also president of the Y. W. C. A. and a member of the Elzevir society and the X. Y. Z. club. At the beginning of the school year following her graduation from Parsons college, she accepted the principalship of the Lucas high school and competently filled that position until her marriage to Lieut. David B. CASSAT, which took place January 16, this year.

Mrs. CASSAT was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and took an active part in the Sunday school where she taught for a number of years. Her cheerful disposition and pleasant manner have won for her a wide circle of friends by whom she will be greatly missed and who sympathize with her family in the loss of their loved one.

She is survived by her husband, her parents, one brother, James, and two aged grandmothers, Mrs. Elizabeth POULTON and Mrs. Elizabeth CRAIL, and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the CRAIL home and were in charge of Rev. C. L. Tennant, pastor of the Methdoist (sic) Episcopal church of this city, and Rev. Thos. Osborn, pastor of the Centerville Methodist church. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
