Saturday December 21, 1918MRS. J.E. JOHNSON PASSED AWAY EARLY THIS MORNING
Mrs. J.E. JOHNSON, a well known and highly respected resident of this city, died this morning at three o'clock at her home on West Burlington street, of influenza, followed by pneumonia. She had been ill for about two weeks.
Mrs. JOHNSON was a very active member in the Lutheran church, being greatly interested in all its work. She was also a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 386, and of the Royal Neighbors and the White Rose Club, in each of which she will be greatly missed.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son Cecil, and three daughters, Mrs. Levi GRABER of Davenport, Mrs. Elmer CARLSON, north of Fairfield, and Mrs. Edgar TYRELL of Fort Collins, Colorado.
A peculiarly sad feature is the fact that Frank O. CARLSON, father-in-law of Mrs. Elmer CARLSON, passed away yesterday afternoon also.
Arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. JOHNSON have not as yet been definitely made.
