Mrs. Olivia (sic. Olive is engraved on the headstone) SVENDSEN, resident of Fairfield for the past four years, passed away at 7:15 a.m. this morning at the Jefferson county hospital. She had been in failing health since last Christmas.
The body is at the Monger funeral home where private funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. They will be in charge of Dr. L.L. Weis and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home until time for the services.
Mrs. Olivia SVENDSEN, 72, was born January 20, 1879, in Varna, Illinois, the daughter of the late August and Ana COLESON. She was reared and educated in Fairfield and graduated as a registered nurse from a hospital in Chicago.
She was united in marriage in 1927 to Andrew SVENDSEN at Elgin, Illinois. Her husband passed away in 1937 (sic. Where is he buried?).
Mrs. SVENDSEN was a member of the Chicago Gospel Tabernacle where she was organist for several years.
Four years ago she came to Fairfield to make her home with her sister, Harriet (sic. Harriett) COLESON, who resides at 608 E. Adams street.
Mrs. SVENDSEN is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Paul and Bernard COLESON, both of Glendale, California; Emmett COLESON, Minneapolis; Lawrence COLESON, Fairfield; Harriet (sic. Harriett) COLESON, Mrs. Raymond ZEIGLER and Mrs. Arthur JOHNSON, all of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and a sister, Maude.
