SCHREPFER, Gilbert W. -- Gilbert W. SCHREPFER, 92, of Bonaparte, died at 8 a.m. today, Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

SCHREPFER, Gilbert 'Gib' William -- Gilbert "Gib" William SCHREPFER, 92, formerly of Bonaparte, died at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Jackie Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6-7:30 p.m. and a Masonic service by Justice Lodge at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials to the Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren's activity fund or Bonaparte United Church may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 302 Franklin St., Apt. B, Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. SCHREPFER was born June 17, 1918, near Big Mound, the son of Ralph W. and Hazel PFEIFFER SCHREPFER. He married Marianne I. HUFF Dec. 26, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo.

Mr. SCHREPFER graduated from Salem High School in 1937. He farmed in Lee County and worked at Jack White Hatchery & Feed Store in Farmington. He was a custodian at Farmington, Harmony and Pekin high schools, retiring in 1981. He and his wife moved to Bonaparte in 2002. He had resided at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren since Sept. 10.

Mr. SCHREPFER had been a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie and most recently belonged to Bonaparte United Church. He was a charter member of both the Ollie and Packwood Lions clubs and was honored as a Melvin Jones Fellow, the Lions' highest award. He was a 42-year Mason in the Justice Lodge No. 230, Ollie, and was a 32nd degree Mason in Davenport Consistory. He was a member of Kaaba Shrine Temple of Davenport and an honorary member of Farmington Alumni Association.

Mr. SCHREPFER enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, round and square dancing, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of Village Terrace Apartments in Keosauqua; two sons, Stephen SCHREPFER and wife Darlene of Cedarville, Ark., and Charles SCHREPFER and wife Keeta of Perry, Ark.; six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one great-granddaughter three brothers and two sisters.
