Wednesday May 23, 1917MRS. SCOTT JORDAN PASSED AWAY HERE THIS MORNING.
Mrs. Ada M. JORDAN, wife of the late Arthur Scott JORDAN, passed away this morning at 5:45 o'clock at her home on East Broadway after an illness of five months.
Mrs. JORDAN was born in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, on January 31, 1848, and was the daughter of John Gray and Ann DYER JORDAN. On October 1, 1868, she was united in marriage at Cape Elizabeth to Arthur Scott JORDAN. This was the culmination of a romance which began in childhood. They were both from the JORDAN families, who were in no way related. After their marriage they came to Fairfield to live where Mr. JORDAN had located, and where they have since made their home. Mr. JORDAN preceded his wife in death on September 25, 1914. To them were born two children, Miss. Nellie E. JORDAN and Arthur G. JORDAN, both of this city.
Mrs. JORDAN was a life-long member of the Congregational church and was a woman of many noble qualities. Her death will be learned with regret by her many friends here.
The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late residence and the remains will be interred in Evergreen cemetery.
