Funeral Services Being Held This Afternoon At Hoskins Parlors
Joe M. SHELTON, 68 years old, well known retired farmer in Fairfield, died at the University hospital in Iowa City at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, following a serious illness of six weeks. He was taken to the hospital six weeks ago and had been in poor health for the past three years.
The funeral services are being held this afternoon, starting at 2:30, from the Hoskins Funeral home in Fairfield. The services are in charge of Dr. U.S. Smith, with burial in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. SHELTON was born Oct. 18, 1865, in Iowa. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Theron COCHRAN. He had lived in and near Fairfield for the past 45 years.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, the children of Mr. and Mrs. COCHRAN. They are: Harold, Curtis, Robert Bruce and Mary Louise.
