J. H. FLEAGLE IS DEAD; LONG ILL
For Years Was a Business Man in Fairfield -- Was 57 Years Old

J. H. FLEAGLE, for years a business man in Fairfield, died at 10:15 oclock this morning at his home, 404 South Sixth street, after a long illness.

No funeral services are announced, but burial will be in Fairfield.

For several years Mr. FLEAGLE was one of the proprietors of the Orpheum theater, first being in partnership with Fred A. Spielman and later being associated with Fred W. Jericho and Frank West.

FLEAGLE RITES HELD YESTERDAY
Rev. R. H. Polly Conducted The Services; Largely Attended By Friends

The last rites for J. H. FLEAGLE, well known business man who passed away Friday forenoon, were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the home, 404 South Sixth street.

Rev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church conducted the services in the presence of many relatives and friends. Miss Mary Stever and Mrs. Norvell Switzer sang several songs in their usual pleasing manner. Interment took place in Evergreen cemetery and the services there were in charge of the Elks, of which organization Mr. FLEAGLE had long been a member.

Mr. FLEAGLE was also prominently connected with the Knights of Pythias and the Eagles lodge (sic - aerie/club).

William Wells, Fred Wray, Charles Ball, C. N. Hamilton, Ralph Brown and A. C. Wisecarver acted as pallbearers.

J. H. FLEAGLE

John Howard FLEAGLE, son of Charley and Bell FLEAGLE, was born at Merrimac, Iowa, August 4, 1870, and departed this life at his home in Fairfield, Iowa, November 11, 1927.

On May 25, 1911, he was married to Sarah BEALL, who survives him.

He came to Fairfield in 1901 and entered into business and continued in the same until illness forced him to retire. He was active in the affairs of the city and a member of the Elks, Eagles and K. of P. lodges.

Besides his wife he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Susie NOTT and one brother, W. H. FLEAGLE of this city.

Funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 oclock by Rev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church. Mrs. Norvell Switzer and Miss Mary Stever sang "Beautiful Isle," "Abide With Me," and "Jesus Lover of My Soul." The burial service was in charge of the Elks. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery. The pall bearers were William Wells, Fred Wray, Charles Ball, C. N. Hamilton, Ralph Brown and A. C. Wisecarver.
