CRAYCRAFT, Evelyn Ruth -- Evelyn Ruth CRAYCRAFT, 91, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m Saturday at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in Prairie City, Ill. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at Sunrise Terrace Care Center.

Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. CRAYCRAFT was born Jan. 29, 1919, in Good Hope, Ill., the daughter of Thomas and Eva SCANLAND. She married Charles S. MELVIN Oct. 8, 1938. He died Sept. 28, 1956. She married William CRAYCRAFT in 1961, and he died in 1966.

Mrs. CRAYCRAFT graduated from Good Hope High School in 1937. She worked for the McDonough District Hospital for 15 years. Becoming bored with retirement, she then worked at the Everly House for 15 years, retiring at the age of 86.

Mrs. CRAYCRAFT moved to Sunrise Terrace in March.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy EGBERT and husband Larry of Richland, and Debbie Anne MELVIN, of Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, two sisters and three brothers.
