BLOMME, Larry Raymond -- Larry Raymond BLOMME, 69, of Batavia died at 11:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A funeral Mass is set for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa, with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding. Burial will be in Competine Cemetery, with military services conducted by Arendt-Bowlin-Stubbs Post No. 83 American Legion.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. and a Christian Wake service at 5:30 p.m. followed by family visitation until 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. BLOMME was born July 9, 1941, in Ottumwa, the son of Raymond and Dorothy Marie GRUNDSTROM BLOMME. He married Karen HEISDORFFER June 25, 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; two sons, Matthew and Nathan BLOMME; one daughter, Natalie HALL; four grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy THIELEN; three brothers, Leo BLOMME, Tom BLOMME and Jerry BLOMME; and one sister, Patty SIEREN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond BLOMME; and stepfather, Anthony THIELEN.
